Wireless Terminals and Mobile Applications
Having the advantage of portability in a wireless terminal is a big plus because it's a time saver. And we all know that time is money. You can process your transactions anywhere that you have phone reception. There is also less equipment to purchase if you have a smartphone or other mobile device. In fact, some vendors will often include a processing method, factored into the cost of the wireless terminal. Mobile apps will work with someone like Authorize.net.
Other processing alternatives like I-pads are available. You can manually enter the card number or, using available hardware, swipe the cards directly. Vendors, such as Square, have the app to do this. You can also download a card reader app at low cost or even for free, in some cases. Some companies offer discounted services for non profits and public institutions if they would like to take advantage of this.
Last but not least , are the security issues you need to be aware of. For instance, does your wireless terminal or application encrypt the transaction for protection? If the card is swiped, does it show the full number, or just the last four digits. Does the device store the credit card numbers? If it does store the information, it shouldn't.
Remember to keep your wireless terminal or smartphone safe. Always leave it in a safe place because they are easy to steal and are an attractive target for this reason.
It would be nice to talk with you about these issues. Don't be afraid to contact me. I work with several processors and can get the answers you need, along with the best pricing on hardware and software.
